Introducing Maszat Fiú

Today Jim, Sarah, Becky and I drove out to Lowood to meet our newest family member, Maszat Fiú, who was posted up to Brisbane yesterday from Sydney. His name is Hungarian for smudged or grubby little boy. Jim’s Grandfather used to call him that as a child. The girls were rather impressed, Becky especially so. Kormos, on the other hand, barely seemed to even notice the little puppy! He had a sniff when we arrived and that was about it.

Caloundra Triathlon

Golden Beach & the Caloundra Triathlon

This weekend brought a trip up to the Sunshine Coast – though “Rain Coast” would have been more appropriate on Sunday. The weather held off JUST long enough for me to finish my race, but just afterwards someone opened the floodgates and we were utterly drowned on the walk back to the motel. I clocked up new PBs for the swim and bike, but at the expense of my run. Plus it was SO humid it was like trying to run through a sponge. Better than having to practically swim all three legs as some poor souls had to in the waves after me. To see Sarah waving and cheering her little heart out at the finish line was my absolute favourite moment of the whole event… I was so proud of her!! She’s going to take my race belt and number in for “Sharing Box” at school next week. She was wearing it this evening, organising her sister to run races with her around the kitchen.

Here are some photos of the weekend. There aren’t any of me actually competing at the moment (as Jim had to try and wrangle both girls and the umbrella!) but Alan and Di will send some along soon. On Saturday the kids had a splash in the motel pool and then we walked down to the beach. Becky is not a fan of the beach. She freaked out every time her toes touched the sand! She was much happier to sit with me and watch her sister and Daddy head out for a swim.
